Gulfstream G650 charter: pricing, specs and range
The Gulfstream G650 flies 7,000 nm nonstop at Mach 0.85, and the longer-legged G650ER covers 7,500 nm on the same wing and the same cabin. From Dubai that puts London, Tokyo, Cape Town and New York inside one leg. Production ended in February 2025, so every G650 on charter today is a pre-owned airframe.

What the Gulfstream G650 is for
The G650 is an ultra-long-range jet built to carry a full cabin between continents without a fuel stop. Gulfstream announced it in March 2008, flew it in November 2009 and put it into service in December 2012. The longer-legged G650ER was certified in October 2014.
It flies on 2 Rolls-Royce BR725 engines, each rated at 16,900 lb of takeoff thrust, for a long-range cruise of Mach 0.85 and a maximum operating limit of Mach 0.925. Maximum altitude is 51,000 ft, above most airline traffic and weather.
Production ended at Savannah in February 2025 after about 598 aircraft, with the G800 taking its place. About 444 G650ERs were in service worldwide in mid-2026, and UAE-based operators fly the type on charter from Dubai.
Gulfstream G650 charter cost from Dubai
No manufacturer, index or trade body publishes a verified charter rate for the G650, in the Middle East or anywhere else. The figures that circulate are broker advertising, and they disagree with each other: 2026 quotes span $11,000 to $22,000 per flight hour, clustering between $13,000 and $18,000.
Charter here is negotiated per trip and per operator, so aircraft age, cabin layout, positioning distance and how the operator's month is filling all move the number. The same width runs through every cabin class in the hourly rates quoted out of Dubai.
The hour is also only part of the invoice. Positioning legs, landing and handling fees, crew overnights, catering and international fees sit outside it, and on a one-way long-haul the empty positioning leg can add hours of billing.
| Trip from Dubai | Distance | Flight time | Hourly band | Indicative total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| London | 2,969 nm | About 7 hours | $13,000–$18,000 | $91,000–$126,000 |
| Singapore | 3,156 nm | About 7 hours 30 minutes | $13,000–$18,000 | $97,500–$135,000 |
| New York | 5,940 nm | About 14 hours | $13,000–$18,000 | $182,000–$252,000 |
Range from Dubai
Gulfstream quotes 7,000 nm for the G650 and 7,500 nm for the G650ER, both at Mach 0.85 with 8 passengers, 4 crew and NBAA IFR reserves. At Mach 0.90 those fall to 6,000 nm and 6,400 nm. All are still-air figures that routing, speed, weather and payload move.
The list below is scored against the standard G650's 7,000 nm, with any city inside 10% of book range marked wind dependent, not nonstop. The 500 nm the ER adds changes 3 verdicts out of Dubai: Sydney at 6,503 nm and São Paulo at 6,597 nm become clean nonstops, and Los Angeles at 7,235 nm turns from a fuel stop into a leg at 96% of book range, which goes with a light cabin and favourable winds, but not against a winter jetstream.
Neither variant reaches everywhere. Dubai to Auckland and Dubai to Santiago both exceed 7,500 nm, so both need a fuel stop whichever aircraft turns up. Business jets into London, Paris and New York normally use Luton, Le Bourget and Teterboro, which shifts these distances by tens of nautical miles without changing a verdict.
- Riyadh 471 nm Nonstop
- Mumbai 1,040 nm Nonstop

Great-circle distances from Dubai. Book range assumes still air and a light cabin, so headwinds, passenger load and payload move the marginal legs either way on the day.
Inside the cabin
The cabin runs 46 ft 10 in long, measured without the flight deck or the baggage hold, 8 ft 2 in across at its widest and 6 ft 3 in high, for 2,138 cu ft of volume. The floor is flat end to end, on an oval fuselage section flattened along the bottom.
There are 16 windows, 8 a side, each 28 in by 20.5 in and set 3.4 in higher in the fuselage than on the previous generation, so the view suits a seated passenger. Cabin altitude is 4,850 ft at 51,000 ft on Gulfstream's own figure, and the air is 100 percent fresh, changing about every 2 minutes.
Layouts, sleeping and galley
The interior was sold across 12 floorplans with up to 4 living zones, so charter aircraft rarely share a layout. A common 3-zone layout runs a club group forward, a conference or dining section expanding from 4 seats to 6, and a private aft area with a convertible divan. Charter layouts typically seat 13 to 16, against a certified 19.
It sleeps up to 10, on a berthable divan making an 80 by 41 in flat surface and cabin seats that berth flat as well. A private stateroom forward of the aft lavatory was an option rather than standard. Of the 2 lavatories, the aft one opens onto the 195 cu ft baggage hold in flight.
The forward galley is full size, and a dedicated crew rest gives 80 in of berthing surface.
How it compares
The G650 loses on paper to 2 aircraft in its own class. The Gulfstream G700 shares its cross-section and T-tail but runs 10 ft longer, showing on the ramp as 10 cabin windows a side against the G650's 8. The Global 7500 is Bombardier's entry, on a longer fuselage with a different wingtip.
The Dassault Falcon 7X and 8X differ mechanically rather than dimensionally: they are trijets with a centre engine and an S-duct, while the G650 carries exactly 2 engines on rear fuselage pylons.
G650 against G650ER
| Figure | G650 | G650ER |
|---|---|---|
| Range at Mach 0.85 | 7,000 nm | 7,500 nm |
| Range at Mach 0.90 | 6,000 nm | 6,400 nm |
| Maximum takeoff weight | 99,600 lb | 103,600 lb |
| Maximum fuel | 44,200 lb | 48,200 lb |
| Takeoff distance at MTOW | 5,858 ft | 6,299 ft |
The ER is the same airframe with 4,000 lb more usable fuel in the existing wing and maximum takeoff weight raised 4,000 lb to match, basic operating weight unchanged at 54,000 lb. Cabin and engines are identical.
Gulfstream sold the ER package as a retrofit too, roughly 2 weeks of downtime and about $2 million, so build year says nothing about which range an aircraft holds. Ask the operator for the figure on that tail number.
Who should charter it, and who should not
A quote comes direct from the operator holding the aircraft or through a broker working across fleets. The 9 charter companies ranked for UAE departures divide roughly along that line.
Ideal for
- Dubai to the US east coast in one leg. New York is 5,940 nm out, inside book range for both variants with margin for winds.
- Groups of 13 to 16 who work en route. The conference group expands from 4 seats to 6, inside up to 4 living zones.
- Overnight sectors where people land ready. The cabin sleeps up to 10, with a 4,850 ft cabin altitude at 51,000 ft.
- Trips that carry real baggage. The 195 cu ft hold opens off the aft lavatory in flight.
- Schedules that need speed. Long-range cruise is Mach 0.85, with a Mach 0.925 limit.
Wrong choice for
- Dubai to Auckland or Santiago. Both exceed 7,500 nm, so a fuel stop is unavoidable on either variant.
- Short regional hops. Doha is 204 nm from Dubai and Riyadh 471 nm, too short to justify $13,000 to $18,000 an hour.
- Anyone who wants a factory-new aircraft. The line closed in February 2025 with no backlog, so every G650 on charter is pre-owned.
- Charters booked on the promise of a shower. It was an option tied to the aft stateroom, not standard, so confirm it on the tail number.
Gulfstream G650 charter questions
How much does it cost to charter a Gulfstream G650 from Dubai?
Broker-advertised rates in 2026 run from $11,000 to $22,000 per flight hour, clustering between $13,000 and $18,000. No manufacturer, index or trade body publishes a verified rate, because charter on this type is negotiated per trip and per operator. Positioning, landing and handling fees, crew overnights, catering and international fees all sit outside the hourly rate.
What is the difference between the G650 and the G650ER?
The ER carries 4,000 lb more usable fuel in the same wing and has a 4,000 lb higher maximum takeoff weight, which lifts book range from 7,000 nm to 7,500 nm at Mach 0.85. Cabin, engines and airframe are otherwise identical. Gulfstream also sold the ER package as a retrofit, so build year does not tell you which range an aircraft holds.
How far can a Gulfstream G650 fly nonstop?
The G650 is quoted at 7,000 nm and the G650ER at 7,500 nm, both at Mach 0.85 with 8 passengers, 4 crew and NBAA IFR reserves. At the faster Mach 0.90 cruise those drop to 6,000 nm and 6,400 nm. All of these are still-air figures, so routing, winds and payload move them on the day.
Can a Gulfstream G650 fly nonstop from Dubai to New York?
Yes. New York is 5,940 nm great-circle from Dubai, inside book range for both the G650 and the G650ER with margin to spare. Los Angeles is different: at 7,235 nm it is beyond the standard G650 and sits at 96% of the ER's book range, so it depends on winds and payload.
How many passengers does a Gulfstream G650 seat?
Up to 19 certified, though charter aircraft are typically laid out for 13 to 16. The interior was sold across 12 floorplans with up to 4 living zones, so seat counts vary by tail number. Configured for sleeping, the cabin takes up to 10.
Is the Gulfstream G650 still in production?
No. The last aircraft left the Savannah line in February 2025 after about 598 were built, and the Gulfstream G800 replaced it. About 444 G650ERs were in service worldwide in mid-2026, and every aircraft on the market is now pre-owned, with transactions in the 6 months to July 2026 running from $37.0 million to $62.4 million.
