What the Gulfstream G700 is for

The G700 is an ultra-long-range aircraft, the class chosen for sector length first and cabin second. Gulfstream publishes 7,750 nm at Mach 0.85 with 8 passengers, 4 crew and NBAA IFR reserves, which puts nearly every intercontinental route out of Dubai inside one leg. It is the flagship of the ultra-long-range class and the largest cabin Gulfstream has built.

The type is new rather than refreshed. First flight was on 14 February 2020, FAA certification followed on 29 March 2024 and EASA certification on 15 May 2024, and customer deliveries started on 23 April 2024. Gulfstream handed over its 100th G700 during the second quarter of 2026.

The Gulf is one of the densest regions for it. 20% of the in-service fleet is based in the Middle East, which against roughly 100 to 105 aircraft puts around 20 of them in the region, and at least one Gulf-based operator lists a G700 for charter.

Gulfstream G700 charter cost from Dubai

No manufacturer, regulator or trade body publishes a charter rate for the G700, so every number in the market is a broker's own estimate. Published 2026 bands start around $13,000 per flight hour and run to $17,000 and up, which is why this page shows $15,000 to $19,000 rather than a single figure.

Rates at the top of that band or above it are normal out of the Gulf. Positioning legs into Dubai are long, and 22 G700s are listed for charter worldwide against a fleet of roughly 100 to 105, so the aircraft is rarely already where you need it.

Flight times are the great-circle distance from Dubai at the 488 KTAS long-range cruise the broker tables publish, so block times run longer. Totals exclude positioning, daily minimums, crew, handling, catering and international fees.

Those totals are arithmetic, not quotes. What decides the invoice is the same set of variables that sets every charter hour out of Dubai: how far the aircraft flies empty to reach you, whether the trip triggers a daily minimum, crew and overnight costs, and the fees each stop adds.

Range from Dubai

The published 7,750 nm is a still-air figure at Mach 0.85 with 8 passengers, 4 crew and NBAA IFR reserves. It is a ceiling rather than a schedule. Fill the cabin, depart Dubai on a hot afternoon, or fly westbound in winter, and the usable number comes down.

The second figure matters as much. At the Mach 0.90 high-speed cruise, range falls to 6,650 nm, so the longest sectors become a choice between speed and a fuel stop. Sydney sits 6,500 nm out, leaving 150 nm of margin at that speed, and Sao Paulo at 6,597 nm leaves 53 nm. Both are comfortable at Mach 0.85 and neither should be planned fast.

Los Angeles is the route to treat carefully. At 7,246 nm it is 94% of book range, inside the 10% margin where winds decide the outcome, and westbound against the jet stream it is not a reliable nonstop. Everything shorter than New York, at 5,951 nm, is uncontroversial.

Great-circle distances from Dubai. Book range assumes still air and a light cabin, so headwinds, passenger load and payload move the marginal legs either way on the day.

Inside the cabin

The cabin measures 56 ft 11 in long excluding the baggage compartment, 8 ft 2 in at its widest finished point and 6 ft 3 in tall, for 2,603 cu ft of volume. Gulfstream fits up to 5 living areas into that length, so working, eating and sleeping get separate zones.

Seating and sleeping

Certified seating is 19 passengers. Charter completions usually land at 13 to 16 seats, because floor space goes to living areas, the galley and the aft suite. Gulfstream quotes its range on 8 passengers, a long-haul assumption rather than a seat count. Sleeping capacity is up to 13.

The aft Grand Suite carries a curved-edge queen-size bed with a full-size dresser opposite and its own lavatory alongside, and that lavatory is where an optional stand-up shower is fitted. A shower is not standard on every aircraft, so it has to be confirmed on the specific tail.

Comfort on a 12-hour sector

Cabin altitude is 2,840 ft at 41,000 ft and 4,850 ft at the 51,000 ft maximum, the aircraft runs 100% fresh air, and 20 oval windows of 21 by 28 inches sit 10 to a side. The galley is built around a 10-foot countertop with a full-size oven, a refrigerator and a wine chiller.

The 195 cu ft baggage compartment is pressurised and entered through the aft lavatory, so bags are reachable in cruise rather than locked away for 12 hours. There are 2 lavatories, and a crew rest area sits opposite the galley, which is what makes an augmented crew practical.

How it compares

Within Gulfstream's own line the G700 is the fastest aircraft, with a maximum operating Mach number of 0.935. Outside it, the type is benchmarked against Bombardier's ultra-long-range aircraft.

Against the Gulfstream G650

They are relatives rather than rivals. The G700 is certified as a derivative of the same GVI model that underlies the Gulfstream G650, on a stretched version of that fuselage, which is why the cabin is longer and the wing carries more area and fuel. The quickest way to tell them apart on an apron is the window count: 10 oval windows a side on the G700 against 8 on the G650.

Against the Global 8000

This is the comparison the market actually makes. The Global 8000 is what a broker will put beside a G700 on an ultra-long-haul request, and the choice usually comes down to cabin layout and what is physically in the region on the date. With 22 G700s listed for charter anywhere in the world, availability often settles it before the specification does.

Who should charter it, and who should not

Ideal for

  • Dubai to the US east coast without a stop. New York is 5,951 nm out, inside even the 6,650 nm high-speed cruise range.
  • Groups of 13 to 16 who have to arrive rested. Cabin altitude runs 2,840 ft at 41,000 ft and up to 13 can sleep.
  • Sectors where the cabin is the office. Up to 5 living areas lets a conference grouping and a working zone coexist without one being dismantled.
  • Buyers who will plan around availability. With 22 aircraft listed for charter worldwide, booking early is the only reliable way to get one.

Wrong choice for

  • Anyone who needs a fixed price up front. No manufacturer or regulator publishes a rate, and a long positioning leg into the Gulf lands at the top of the $15,000 to $19,000 band or above.
  • Short regional hops. Muscat is 188 nm from Dubai and Doha 204 nm, and a daily minimum in this bracket makes those legs expensive per mile.
  • Dubai to Los Angeles on a fixed schedule. At 7,246 nm that route is 94% of book range and wind dependent, so a westbound winter leg may still need a stop.

Availability decides a G700 booking out of Dubai more often than specification does, so the first move is finding out who can place one on your dates. The UAE charter companies ranked on this site quote the type when it is in the region.

Gulfstream G700 charter questions

How much does it cost to charter a Gulfstream G700?

Charter brokers publish roughly $15,000 to $19,000 per flight hour for the G700 in 2026. No manufacturer, regulator or trade body publishes an official rate, so every figure in the market is a broker estimate. The quoted hour normally excludes positioning, daily minimums, crew and overnight costs, landing and handling fees, catering and international fees, and Gulf departures tend to sit at the top of the band.

How far can a Gulfstream G700 fly?

Gulfstream publishes 7,750 nm at Mach 0.85 with 8 passengers, 4 crew and NBAA IFR reserves. At the faster Mach 0.90 cruise that falls to 6,650 nm. Both are still-air figures, so payload, temperature on departure and headwinds all reduce what is achievable on the day.

How many passengers does a Gulfstream G700 seat?

Certified seating is 19 passengers. Charter completions usually carry 13 to 16 seats, because floor space goes to living areas, the galley and the aft Grand Suite instead. Sleeping capacity is up to 13.

Does the Gulfstream G700 have a shower?

A stand-up shower is an option in the aft lavatory, not standard equipment. Some G700s have one and some do not, so it has to be confirmed on the specific aircraft before booking. That aft lavatory also holds a stand-up closet and is the in-flight door into the baggage compartment.

Can a Gulfstream G700 fly Dubai to New York nonstop?

Yes. New York is 5,951 nm from Dubai, which is 77% of the published 7,750 nm range and also inside the 6,650 nm high-speed cruise range, so the leg works at Mach 0.90 as well as at Mach 0.85. Los Angeles is the harder one at 7,246 nm, where winds decide whether it goes nonstop.

How much does a new Gulfstream G700 cost to buy?

A new G700 was reported at about $81 million in 2026, with dealer asking prices for delivery-ready aircraft reaching $90,995,000. Gulfstream does not publish a list price, so every figure is a third-party report of one. There is effectively no public pre-owned market either, with roughly 1% of the fleet listed for sale.
